So interesting Buck. Do you think you would have medically transitioned had being very masculine female been accepted in society back then? Wearing the men's clothes all the time..shopping there as being seen as female? It seems society is worse now for gender nonconforming people.

Hi Buck. I stumbled on your substack from FAIR.

Thanks for sharing. Reading through your stuff I am starting to wonder if it’s considered “old person think” to struggle, or suffer through shame, or having to sit with anxiety and cognitive dissonance. Is it old fashioned to have to do that? Is that what people are avoiding nowadays?

I’ve recently become a subscriber to your YouTube channel, and I agree with so many of your points on the trans ideology today. You’re doing a huge service by sharing the other side of the trans movement (including detransitioners and the harm of transitioning children), which today’s trans advocates want to hide.

I am so glad that the trans movement wasn’t like it is today in the 90’s and 2000’s. I was a massive tomboy, and for awhile I even thought I was supposed to be a “boy” and felt huge envy the first time I remember going into a boy’s bathroom at age 4/5. But as I grew up I grew out of it, and I realize now that my desire to be a boy had more to do with me wanting to get equal attention from my father and to be “cool” doing masculine things (extreme sports, being outdoors, etc) instead of wearing makeup and sparkly clothes.

There is a war against the tomboy today and it’s so sad as I see many young tomboys being pushed into trans ideology when they do not have true gender dysphoria. I truly believe if I was a kid today I would have been funneled down that route.

I agree a little struggle early on is good. It is / was how we found out what we really needed. There was a strong message that "maybe you're just gay". That was the pressure that was the mantra.

Replaced now with a pressure to be trans when for many they are "just gay". I think the struggle still exist for young trans kids. Especially MTF being the ones used in media, laws, etc as the monster under your daughters bed or in her locker room. I see Kai Shapely having to leave TX after having tried to talk to legislators to not ban her social transition... with clothes that's still a struggle. A little struggle is good, but now we are not allowed to. Either we are outlaws or encouraged with little in between.

Without struggle, true and lasting strength is impossible. Each setback and heartbreak gave you a lesson in resilience. You know you earnt this. That's why it tastes so sweet. No one gave it to you. You earnt it.
